October 20th, 2012 A Robin, being chased by a Mockingbird, crashed landed into our window, hard enough to rattle it. I rushed outside to rescue it. I sat on the stoop holding the dazed bird, until it came to, about 20 minutes. It was bobbing its head, with eyes closed, in the age old ‘body language’ saying, “OMG What a headache!”. It then suddenly became alert and recovered somewhat, and looked up at me completely unafraid. I sat it on the stoop. It jumped BACK into my lap. I sat it on the Welcome statute. It jumped back again. I sat it down and got my camera. Still there. I POSED it all over the place, on the Welcome sign, mat, ground, even WITH the cat!!! It was cool with it. The cat looked at it and lost interest. I then took it to the barn and let it go. As I was walking back to the house, it flew onto my head and landed on my shoulder. I took it BACK to the barn and put it in some dense bushes. RAN back to the house. Then the camera batteries died, & I put them on the charger. An hour later, I was horrified to see through the storm door, the bird AND THE CAT napping on the porch!! I freaked. (And was MAD I missed THAT wonderful shot!!!) So I got the car keys and DROVE the bird several miles down the road to some trees. THE NEXT DAY there was a Robin sitting on the carport wall. It would let me get about 2 feet away, before skipping out of reach. But he’s still out there, today is Oct 22, 2012. I just hope I don’t come out and find FEATHERS! I will cry then. I will never forget this bird and this WEIRD day!!….Taken in Casscoe, Ark USA with a SanyoVPC-E2100, straight from the camera.
