As photographers, y’all understand finding That Perfect Photo Op, and how you’ll move Heaven & Earth to get it. Well, this was MY moment. Yesterday, (9 30-12)I’m driving along the highway in Eastern Ark USA. I’m en route to an awards ceremony, of which I was a recipient. I carry my 4 lb camera everywhere, and I saw this incredible 3 mile long train of what I correctly assumed was U S Army vehicles, bound for the Middle East. I’m patriotic, and this kinda got to me. Knowing I’ll never see this again, I did an illegal u turn(on a busy highway!!), & drove RAPIDLY to the the rail yard. I slithered through a locked fence, slid down an embankment (it had rained). Jumped a small ditch, went up the other embankment, crawled OVER a guard rail and emerged panting by the tracks. (you can see some of the terrain in the left of the photo)..Ok, I’m in high heels, ‘dressed to the nines’ in slinky black!!! I was standing by the 2 engines, which were idling and getting ready to move. I coulda’ shoulda’ been arrested. I quickly snapped my photos. As I was leaving, they beeped the horn, scared me and I nearly fell in the ditch. They had kindly WAITED for me to finish!! (I’m probably on my way to being an Urban Legend. Wonder what they were thinking? I’ll bet they were laughing) They held up an ENTIRE TRAIN for me to get this photo! I thought that was SO COOL! I waved, and they waved, and left. …My dress was a mess. I quickly drove to a friends house. She looked at me and sadly said, “You’ve been photo’ing again,…. haven’t you?” I admitted my sins, and she loaned me some clothes. I got my award AND my photo!! I’ll never forget this day……taken with a SanyoVPC-E2100.

I’ve had a camera in my hand since the old Swinger Camera days (remember those?). EVERYWHERE I go, my cameras go. My friends and family gave up trying to separate us a long time ago….But I’m relatively new to digital photography. I keep saying “Where have you been all my life…?” There are so many beautiful images on Red Bubble. I’m SO inspired!

You have great perspective in this shot. The formation of the tires looks great to me. Very informative photo description. Thanks for sharing this with us.
