I planted this wild Dewberry vine(it was small then)about 10 years ago, with the idea of eating them. WRONG! I think I MAY have gotten 2 cups in all the years I’ve had it. They are huge now and have overtaken my area(and my neighbors). I never get any, the birds, bunnies, bugs(WASPS!!) and Water Moccasins get them all! When I saw that deadly snake, I decided then I would BUY my berries from then on. I do sneak in a few good photos, tho. Taken last year, in Arkansas with a Samsung.

berry, fruits, dewberries, wild fruit, garden, nature, invasive plants, edible plants

I’ve had a camera in my hand since the old Swinger Camera days (remember those?). EVERYWHERE I go, my cameras go. My friends and family gave up trying to separate us a long time ago….But I’m relatively new to digital photography. I keep saying “Where have you been all my life…?” There are so many beautiful images on Red Bubble. I’m SO inspired!

Beautiful macro image, I have been bitten by a moccasin and it took me over three months to get completely over it. If they ever tell you that water moccasins can not bite you under water they are WRONG.

I love your composiiton and the way you have served this image up,. Reminds me of childhood days visiting grandparents on their rustic homestead in rural Maine. (Minus the fear of running into a water moccasin, of course.)

    beatufiul. I love your story.
it sounds like the blackberries my parents had everyone got some including their dog who love to pick the low ripe ones.
