Morgan Coupe by

Morgan Aeromax Coupe

Made during 2008 and 2009, it was decided to make a limited production run of 100 cars, all of which were sold within just a few weeks of its announcement.
Innovations in producing the coupe include a world first, the use of high tech super formed aluminum panels for the entire body. This process allows the most complex of shapes to be made in aluminum, which is then fitted over a traditional ash frame.

The body is bolted to a stiff yet lightweight Aero 8 chassis which is fitted with a 367hp 4.8L BMW V8 engine, making sure the car can’t be described as sluggish. Another first for Morgan is the fact that consumers can now choose to have an automatic gearbox. The 6-speed ZF unit endows the new coupe with better acceleration and fuel economy than the manual thanks to its lock up clutch, low power loss and instant change characteristics.

Hi Bill, Spectacular shot of an equally impressive ride! I admire your sense of creativity in being able to blend your art the way you do with a foreground and background image!

  • Thanks very much Steve! I greatly appreciate your very kind remarks! I almost put a rear view of this in the background…

This is one car it would be fun to see in person…nice work.

  • Thank you Robert! It’s quite amazing how many of these Rare machines I run into at Cars & Coffee, a very informal meet. Last Saturday they had around 400 cars show up! They were cruising around looking for a place to park…it was great!

And its so beautiful its eyes are always looking at eachother.
They’re an interesting bunch, Morgan. Men with black fingers build the wooden-framed cars in sheds by hand, and a (fair) few years ago people have died while on the waiting list for the plus four/plus eight model. Richard Hammond has one of these and he loves it, that’s good enough of an endorsement for me.

  • They are beautiful machines and hard to find used…no one wants to let go. Thanks for commenting!

One of my favorite cars, all of them old and new. Great job on this iconic car Bill

  • Thank you Paul! I always appreciated how they held onto the classic style, and continue to be hand built! A lot of loyalty in this company…
