I'VE HAD BETTER DAYS

This morning I awoke at about 5-50am. Got up went to the bathroom and then sat at my computer to sort a couple of photos before the mad rush of the day began. Anyway while sitting there I also had my tv on as a lot of the schools were closed today because of the teachers strike and I wanted to listen out for any last minute closures as some children like Katie still had school as they are sitting their SATs soon. The weather forecast came on, band of rain coming, wet and windy day, lots of showers clearing in the afternoon…..... sighhhhhhh, so I decided to look out my bedroom window and see if it was raining but to my surprise no rain but a beautiful big rainbow so I grabbed my camera and managed a couple of shots before it faded …...........now I know why I take my camera to bed with me LOL.

After dropping Katie off at Breakfast Club at school, by which time it was raining cats and dogs I went to Mum’s to check on her and have coffee and toast, I had Grahame with me this morning as he had day release college through his job but I had to take Katie’s cat to the vets as she had an eye infection gone very bad and I needed his help. We managed to get her from her hiding place eventually and got her in a portabox.

It was bad news at the vets her eye is so bad that tomorrow they are going to put her out and remove the eye, I should explain here that Louisa the cat, had gone walkabout and we thought run over but she turned up out of the blue a couple of days ago looking a bit worse for wear. To cut a long story short, they gave us a quote for her eye surgery and aftercare £350-00 approx plus the cost of any medication or further treatment that she might need. We don’t have pet insurance but they have kindly said once everything is done they will work out a payment plan with us and to possibly expect the total bill to be around £450-00.

Feeling rotten and worrying about Louisa we decided to have a drive around with our cameras and see if anything was happening at any of our haunts. By about 11-30am the showers had eased up although it was quite windy and overcast. I suggested going to Stansted House Gardens as it was free, not far from home and after uploading some summer shots over the last few days I was eager to see how it looked at springtime.

The heavens smiled on us and the sun came out and went in and came out LOL….. it didn’t rain, was still a bit windy but we had sun on and off and blue sky. We wandered around for a few hours taking pics of flowers and trees and I was excited to see all the plants in bud ready to spill their beautiful flowers soon, I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks and see. At about 2-30pm we got back to the car after getting some great shots. Just as we got in the car the sky darkened and it hammered down with rain again.

So now I am just about to sort through the pictures taken today and hopefully have some beautiful flowers and foliage images to upload soon….......

sooooooooooo how was YOUR day today…...........??

    My day has been wonderful.
Had lunch out with a very dear friend, put the world to rights and had a serious spend.
I bought some lovely new jeans at 30% off which meant I got a new watch for free. (Girl logic, men don’t really understand this concept)
Did boring food shop. Why do supermarkets have “music” blasting away at full volume?
Watched a rugby match and then the only TV show I enjoy.
So I have a MUCH better day than you, Sharon.
So sorry yours has had more down than up, but I hope Louisa will be well soon.
    jxxx

Glad you had a wonderful day J, I know the watch was free because you bought it with the 30% that you would have spent on the jeans, food shop is always boring and they play the music so loud so that
    1. you forget what you want and spend more than you want to.
    2. one of the songs played is one you actually know and end up singing along to which makes ….you forget what you want and spend more than you want to….LOL

Watched the rugby? or the men in tight shorts ? :))
Glad you had a good day J, you deserve it xxxx

and thank you about Louisa, just hope she’s ok with the anathestic (sp?)

But you did get some fabulous shots out of it Sharon!

Sorry to hear about the Cat and hope he’ll be ok. Pet insurance is so expensive you just hope and pray that nothing will happen!!! End of last year my old ginger chap had to have a thyroidectomy which also cost squillions and being a pensioner I also had to have a payment plan. It was worth it though as he now has quite a few more years left!

Hi Jen, thank you for your kind words they bring me comfort, I am at work at the moment it’s 12-43pm and I am waiting to hear from the vets, they phoned this morning to say they would be operating late morning, and as I’ve typed this the vets have phoned. They removed the eye, it was slightly difficult because it had ruptured but she seems fine and is slowly coming around. However they need to check her good eye because the two eyes are connected to the same nerve and she might not be able to see with the good eye. I will know later today. Is that Poppy you are talking about Jen? she’s gorgeous, glad everything worked out ok :))

Thanks for that George, I had a phone call a wile ago, she is coming round nicely, eating well and as far as they can tell she can still see with the one eye and if all goes well Louisa can come home tomorrow. I am so relieved. Thanks everyone for all your kind words, much appreciated.

Hope everything is ok by now Sharon and the sight in Louisa’s other eye has been saved! Animal’s have miraculous healing powers.

No, it wasn’t Poppy, it was my older cat Ginger who is now 20 years old! I have to give him anti- biotic injections every now and again as he’s been left with a chronic rhinitis (probably spelled that wrong LOL) as I just can’t get him to my Vets now as the stress the last time nearly killed him and we want to keep him going as long as possible.
