There are still 38 churches with round towers in the county of Suffolk, England. The setting of this one at Aldham just outside Hadleigh is stunning.
There are parts of the church that are Saxon although the tower is belived to be from the Norman period.
Over the years when the daffodils are in bloom, I have taken lots of shots of St Mary’s. Every time it is different. Lighting, stillness of the water, leaves on the trees all vary.

wonderful view. though I only work 1 mile away and two colleagues live in the village, I have only visited the church once. I am inspired to revisit, though I may have missed the daffodils at their best
Whoops Chris, put my original reply in the wrong place !
I just love Aldham. I have only been when the daffodils are out. I’m sure it is stunning at other times of the year as well.

Very lovley.
Thanks very much Sheryl. I think this is my favourite setting for a church in Suffolk. Sometimes you have the lambs infront of the church as well.
