Southwold’s Adnams Ales owns two of the towns hotels
1)The Swan Hotel 2) The Crown Hotel.
In 1659 the town had a major fire that destroyed most of its buildings. Looking at the Crown Hotel I should imagine that this was also destroyed at that time and would have been rebuilt in around 1660.
Southwold is a small genteel town on the Suffolk coast. It has lots of interesting features including a very quaint pier, a working lighthouse, a green with cannons thereon and lots of unique shops in very interesting looking buildings. St Edmunds Church is also one of the largest in Suffolk.
Southwold is also home to the Adnams Brewery. My joint favourite beer is Broadside which is made by the brewery.
