The view looking north west along our beach is blighted during the day by Europe’s largest iron blast furnace, where the raw materials are smelted down to create iron. A little further inside the plant, various techniques are used to create steel. This is the last remaining blast furnace of 100s that once filled the are here with smoke at the height of the victorian age.

At dusk, and by night, the whole area becomes much more photogenic!
