Artist's Description

Another forgotten hero from Canadian comics of the 1940’s. The charecter of Nitro only appeared a few times. The interior of most Canadian comics were black and white. The covers were in colour but usually with bad colouring jobs. So Nitro always appeared to be wearing only trunks, boots and gloves with a red ‘N ’ on his chest. Because this colouring seemed to match the interior look I decided to go with it.
Although called Nitro I couldn’t find any images or refrences to his powers, so I took some artistic licence and added the glowing orbs.
Superheroes weren’t a big part of Canadian comic books. Most charecters were just action heroes.Two-fisted adventurers who seemed to shoot or beat up criminals.
Nitro was created by George Lazare and appeared in Dime Comics.
