Artist's Description

The Iron Man is considered to be the first Canadian superhero. Created by Vernon Miller, who was once an animator for Disney , he helped create Maple Comics. Which was based in Vancouver.
When WW2 had started in order to preserve money reserves, non essentials were banned in order to keep money in the country. This included comic books. As a result several comic companies were created to fill the void.
Maple Comics have the distinction of putting out Better Comics#1 which featured The Iron Man.
He was basically a Sub-mariner clone. Based in the South Pacific. Lived in an abandoned underwater city. The last of his people. As far as I know no name was ever given, just Iron Man. Perhaps that was his name.
The early issues of Better Comics were printed with a very limited colour palette. Red, Blues, Gray. So I maintained that scheme for his appearance.
Yes I re-used my Sub-Mariner pose. I figured since he was a copy I would use a copy.
