It can only be referred to as unrequited love… the affinity I have with this wonderful beverage. I love coffee, but it doesn’t (always) love me. This is kind of a representation of sorts interpreting the “love/hate” relationship coffee and I exchange. There is an element of darkness, yet intrigue… the kind of allure that you sense when you know you are playing with fire, but can’t keep your senses from interacting with the flames. Even though it burns you, you love it and continue toying just to see how far the infatuation can go before you are engulfed by it. I was actually drinking my coffee whilst creating this and employing all the sensations that arise within myself in order to create a visual display of the inner workings of this relationship. There is something very voodoo about this piece. It’s almost like a living thing… to me at least.
