Profile
I am currently a college student attending Washington State University, about 70 miles south of Spokane, WA. I don’t have a lot of great shots, but I do have a few that I’m pretty happy with. Hopefully I’ll progress in my own photography in seeing some of the great artists on here. That’s my goal at least.
I’ve really only been into photography since about Nov. 2006, though I didn’t make a lot of time for practicing between March and September so I haven’t progressed nearly as much as I would have liked. My own fault.
I currently shoot with a Nikon D70 and the 18-70mm kit lens which I got used last November. On top of that I have a 55-200mm Nikkor VR lens and I’ve recently become the owner of a Cokin P series setup and have started acquiring filters for that.
I generally do very little editing other than removing dust spots or the occasional lens flare. I feel that film is much more pure, however digital certainly has it’s advantages. To me photography is about capturing the naturally occurring beauty of a person, place, or thing; [extra/studio lighting isn’t really modifying the natural beauty, but rather accentuating it] when you start to edit beyond a certain point it becomes more of a photo-manipulation/digital art than true photography.
