The State Of Hate

Let me interject and introspect for a sec
To bring you up to date on the State Of Hate
Is it the main course on your dinner plate?
It isn’t nutricious or delicious
It is, however, viscious and malicious
To think that a man could have a plan to step then stand on the back of another man
I mean, damn!
This fraction caused the friction that perpetuates the fiction which seems to be the biggest contradiction
What is the root that keeps me under this boot?
Is it an eye for an eye?
A tooth for a tooth?
This can’t be truth or can it?
Is there space on the planet for this bandit?
He’ll just keep takin’ until we start shakin’ and nobody out there can bring home the bacon
We are all a minority in the face of authority when money, my friends, is the true priority
Profit and loss
Buying at cost
We seem to be lost
But, across the nation righteous indignation is the indication to your invitation to intimidation
I see violence
You want silence
So that the intensity doesn’t conflict with your propensity to act casually
Well, it won’t get gone and we won’t see the dawn until a drive-by happens on the white house lawn
Clinton would be smitten
Where Reagan was a pagan
And we all wanted to burn the Bush
It would be cush if I didn’t pull and you didn’t push
For a position in transition to improve my condition
Because we’ll flop in this slop and it won’t ever stop until we unlock the cage, turn the page, and stop the rage
So instead of dying from a bullet, I can die of old age.

I love the rawness and gutsiness of this piece! I agree with paul, we can all learn from hatred and anger.. and by learning make choices. These daily choices of working against the worldly grind of “eye for an eye” mentality. The line “But, across the nation righteous indignation is the indication to your invitation to intimidation” is so relevant to our open doors of fear and failure. The foundation of hate is well rooted in greed and jealousy “Profit and loss Buying at cost We seem to be lost”, no lasting satisfaction! A masterful wordplay of breaking tides.
