Profile
I was 6 once and I rehash the cool of it. Arms up and it wasn’t rude in polite company. I just ran and ran and slept where I fell. It was more interesting to have to practice catching than actually being good at it. I’ll get my shoes on after I look at this flower…I’ll chase life and won’t ever catch up. That was fine. Now, I will listen to Ivan Morrison and appreciate being human. I will hurry without knowing why and regret what I missed when I travel not being certain that I will return. I will tow a great load with knowledge that I cannot carry it long because I will grow tired. I won’t tell or speak of it from concern that I will slip and you may see. I will imbibe of experience but seldom share the deepness of it knowing some may drown and I can only rescue a few. I am often tired now and sleep in comfortable places as I have arranged that earlier as to avoid soreness. Ironically, I know the pain is necessary for discovering beauty, I still shudder in the face of it. Comfort may secure me and mine but it may also lessen my resistance to fear. Being a man means doing it for her and them even if it does mean this. My memory can contain more now, so I will remember being 6. I will try to count pebbles and forget what time you wanted me there…
