The Heartbeat Of Hope Breathing New Life Within God’s Lighthouse “

Heading down the highway with rain beading across the hood
As the wipers blast away the fallen moisture clinging to my car
For I’m traveling back to my home state of Rhode Island
Where my father for the last years of his life and many before it
Was in charge of the lonesome lighthouse atop the mighty cliffs
As it provided peace and comfort for all the towns people down below
And as I head up that winding road leading to it’s domain
I noticed that the light that had provided strength to so many
Was now dead and silent as shadows winded up it’s walls
For it almost appeared that maybe the lighthouse itself….....
In all it’s 17th century appeal had picked up on feelings felt
For I was going through some very difficult times in my life
As I was struggling with the loss of my best friend
Who fell victim to the overpowering strength of the human pride
And over those last few remaining months …
I continued to fall further and further away from my destiny….
Falling into the timeless depths of self- pity and forgottoness

And as I get out of my car with thoughts of despair lingering heavily
I look up to the darkened tower where light has been silenced
And wonder in the back of my mind if it felt the energy eluding me
For I was starting to lose the heart that once claimed me
And as I headed out to the breakwall where waves crashed mercilessly
I sat down upon the rocks that overlooked the ocean’s grace
As my ears continued to fill with pulsing rythmns created by water’s touch
And as I wrap my arms around buckled knees thrust up ….
My thoughts of regret start tampering the heart once filled ….
While tears start forming in the corners of forgotton eyes…...

And as I look up to the sky where stars are triumphantly magnified …..
Due to the silence brought forth from the lighthouse behind me…..
I begin to notice the absolute beauty held amidst the Heavens
As stars beckon for attention from lost and wishful people…..
For they represent all hopes and dreams in waiting…...
As passionate hearts blend together from the power of a wish
And as I sit alone upon the rocks held by cascading beauty
I begin wishing that I could turn back time on faults arisen
As I raise my shaky voice to the Heavens and say…...
” God…. if you’re listening….. I could sure use your help down here “
” I don’t know where else to turn ?.....and I don’t know what to do ? “
” ............I feel lost…... and my heart is completely breaking into…. ”
” Pleasssssssssse … God…... I’m asking for your help ”.......
And as I continued to stare at the stars with God’s voice placed on my wishlist
I noticed that the symphony of music held below was hushed to silence
As the waters ceased from the essence of crackling divinity
And from out of nowhere….. came a sound resonating behind me….
For it sounded like a faint heartbeat pulsing in the night….
And as I turned my head back towards the lighthouse…...
It began to pulse with light ….. filling the night sky with life….
From a dimmed flashlight to a brightened star… and back again….
All pounding from a heartbeat that lived within it’s curved glass
And as my eyes fell short of words…... the tower fell silent yet again….
........No more heartbeat…......... no more light…....
And as tears began to crest once more…..
I cried out with a lonesome’s heart abandonment…..
” Pleasssssse God….. Don’t go…. Don’t leave me …..”
” I need you right now…... More than ever…..”
And then…....below my feet ….. the waters began to flow…..
For the symphony began to play it’s song once more …..
But the thoughts still lingered deep down…..
I needed Him…...... why did He go ?......
....................Why did He leave me ? ........
And then…..... from the farthest reaches of the sky….
A star blazed it’s glory across the wonder of my eyes
As it left a trail of stardust behind…..................
Like an intense meteor shower of wishes all clinging to the same dream
And while I admired it’s beauty ….... it fell right out of the sky…...
Landing in the ocean that held it’s reflective splendor before me…..

And with awe- struck eyes ….. a Light appeared from the water’s depths…..
Casting a full moon painting of Heaven glistening in the water
As it continued to rise towards the surface of spirituality
While the waters continued to bubble in it’s wake…..
And from the torrent of time stood still…. an illuminating figure appeared
For it was as bright as ten lighthouses combined…..
Leaving me blinded in a hypnotic state as I shielded my eyes…..
And when the intensity began to fade a bit …..
I lowered my arm from it’s protective state only to find…..
That She was standing right in front of me…....
With long red hair…. all dressed in white…. and surrounded in Light…..
And as my heart began to race a thousand times in reverse….
She spoke with tenderness held in the Arms of Grace…...
” I’m here to cleanse you….. and remind you…... just who you are…....
And why you are needed in this world…..
For your eyes have been closed for far too long….....
........God never left you…. ....He’s always been here…..
That’s one of the many things your eyes have forgotton to see….”
” I don’t understand….. ” I said….... with heart in question…..
” Your heart is not the problem ” .... she said….
” It’s everything that you chose to forget…..... “
” You have no idea what God has placed in your hands….
And the path of healing that He wants you to lead….. “
” My dear child…. you have forgot….. That’s why I’m here ….”
And softly she reaches out her hand and says…......
” Come with me …......Let’s revisit your past…...
So you can see all the blessings that have surrounded you since day one “
And as I took her hand ….. we began to rise up towards the sky….....
Above the clouds…..... and towards the stars…....
Where a magnificent Light was residing….....

Softly she said…. ” You will see things differently from up here…..
You will begin to see your life through our eyes…....
For everything that we see in you shall be revealed here tonight…..
You will find all the answers to the questions you seek…..
You will know what others see… and what God has in store for you…..
Now look into the Light and open your heart to the truth”.......
And as I stared at the Light intently…..
I began to feel goosebumps rise up against trembling flesh…..
As I began to see my numerous car accidents….. 4 to be exact…....
Where all of them became the divine gifts known as miracles ….....
For I was left without serious injury in all of them…....
And from up here…. I began to see something that I didn’t see down there…...
There were Angels all around me in every accident…...
Using their wings as shields….......protecting me from harm…...
Every incident…........their wings were present….......
Then softly she said… ” Now look deeper into your past ”.........
So I began to concentrate a little bit more and saw this …......
Some 15 years ago….. when I was diagnosed with diabetes….
I began to see 10 long years of unmanaged and unwillingness
As my sugar rose and fell to the waves of pain crashing at my feet
For it got to the point where it was completely out of control…....
And I saw my Dr. at the time telling me the grave news…..
That if I didn’t start taking care of myself…......
I would never live to see the age of 30…...
And all those feelings that surrounded me ….. anger… heartache ….lonliness…

And then like a gift from Heaven…..I switched Doctors…....
All due to one’s retirement…..........
And then I saw myself sitting in front of Dr. Dorsey 10 years later…
As her eyes remained full of amazement and wonder saying…..
” What you are…... is a walking, talking, breathing miracle…..
Ten years of out of control high sugar, and no complications…..
No glaucoma… no kidney, or liver damage…... your healthy as can be…..
I don’t know what God has in store for you…... but it must be big…..
............Because you are extremely blessed ”...........
And as I saw myself reliving that experience again…. I begin to cry once more…..

She reaches over and places her hand on my shoulder and says…..
” There is still more my child….. more you need to see….. “
So I look back at the inspiring light before me and see myself at age 8….
Back to the day when I got my arm caught in the P.T. O. shaft of the elevator….
Where my right arm was broken in 7 places and turned clockwise 3 times….
As I began to remember all the pain I felt …..
And found myself cringing in the horror of it all…..
But like before…. I began to see miracles up here …...
That I couldn’t see from down there….......
For I began to see a band of Angels all hovering over top of me…..
Where all of them were squeezing the last bit of aloe from their wings….
As it dripped all over my helpless body…...
While my pores began to soak up the healing power carved from God’s heart….

” Oh My God…. ” I said…..” All God’s Angels were there for me…... Yet Again “
And lovingly she began to look into my eyes and say…......
” Like I said before….....you have no idea just how blessed you truly are ….. ”
” And that is just a few of the things that God has done for you in your life….. “
” And now that you know the Truth….............
And that God’s Angels have surrounded you since day one…..
.............Do you know why ?............
Do you know why He has saved you again and again ?......
....................Why did He save your right arm ? ..........
Why were Angels present in every circumstance that presented danger ? ...”

And then, the Angel softly places her hand lovingly upon my cheek and says….
” You have the gift to heal….. your words…. your poetry…. is God’s voice….
He’s using your heart and speaking through your words…...
He saved your arm because He knew you would need it one day…..
So don’t ever feel abandoned…. or feel your not being heard…..
God knows what you are going through, and He knows how you feel…..
As for your best friend…... the one you hurt…..the one that won’t talk to you…...
Did you ever think that maybe God has a little something to do with that ?
Maybe…. just maybe…. He wants you to come to Him when you need help…..
After all…. He has provided all the Angels that you have ever needed to stay healthy….
Did you ever think that maybe she is waiting for you to find yourself again ?.....
That maybe She’s waiting for you to figure all this out on your own…...
And then…. who knows…... She might be back one day…...
But you can’t live the remaining years of your life in regret…...
You have to find yourself …. and move forward…....
Learn from your mistakes….... and let your heart guide you …....
For God gives everyone a chance to fullfil their destiny…...
To make an impact if you will…. upon the face of humanity…..
.............................So now do you undrstand ?.....................
Do you finally understand why God has blessed you and watched over you ?
You are what people reach out for when they need strength….......
...............Don’t ever forget who you are …..and why you are here…... “
” God chose you for a reason…... don’t ever lose sight of that ….....”

And as we began to descend back down to Earth…..
I could see the lighthouse beaming from hundreds of miles away…..
And as our feet touched the ground ….. she looked up and said
” The Light in your heart is lit once again….. don’t ever let it burn out…...
Keep your faith strong…. and know that you are loved…...
Don’t take anything for granted….. and cherish all your days…...
God will watch over you and so will His Angels…..
Just keep your eyes open to the truth…....
.... And your heart full of God’s love….......
And you will impact this world far beyond the reaches of your deepest dreams “
And as she began to let go of my hand…..........
The heartbeat of the lighthouse started to pound once again with life….
Leaving my heart full and complete with the ultimate desire to heal the world present
As she slowly started to rise towards the Kingdom Of Heaven
