Hello you!!! Sorry I haven’t said G’day for so long!!!! I love your Chooks!! (well, Grandma’s anyway ;) )
Elaine van Dyk
@ poppy, Sharon, Anne & Craig. Goodness, you bubblers are quick off the mark! Thanks so much for your very encouraging remarks. I’ve been somewhat tied up lately and am now raring to get creative again.
@ Craig – I understand all about those long periods of time when we just don’t have the energy or the time to spend checking out our friends on RB. I know you are still around, so that’s all good news.
Sandra Chung

this is superb
Elaine van Dyk
Hi heather & Alyson – thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment.
@ MaryO – As always you are so encouraging and I appreciate all your feedback.
@ Shanina – Mmmm, strange that I have such an affinity with chooks (nothing to do with being an older chook myself of course!). No seriously, I guess chooks played a large part in my childhood – though not my grandmother’s chooks because I never had living grandparents. I use them quite symbolically sometimes (the hens, and the terrifying rooster who keeps and eye on all). I do really adore chooks though, especially those delightful, broody little Silkies.

Hi shanghaiwu. We must have crossed each other on the internet path! Thank you for your very valued feedback.

Karin Taylor
love your chookies :D or chookens as I like to call ‘em :D
Elaine van Dyk replied
Thanks Karin. Must say, I think “chookens” is a great word – makes chooks sound really, really cute.
Edward Huse
What a funny coincidence between our chicken pics!
Elaine van Dyk replied
Yes, isn’t it! And it is so interesting how both our prints have been based on our individual past work/projects. But in my past project they were a symbolic representation, whereas now they are purely there because I adore chickens (or “chooks” as the Aussies say)
jemimalovesbigted
these are brilliant!
Elaine van Dyk replied
Thanks so much for that enthusiastic comment, jeminalovesbigted! Much appreciated.
Hemalata
Love the chookies!!!
Elaine van Dyk replied
Thank you, Hemalata. I’m currently looking around for more chooks to draw and photograph…...saw some nearby so will be brave and ask the owners if they mind.
