Interesting artwork. I Like the colouring
Elaine van Dyk replied
Thanks kalaryder. My favourite medium for creative expression is printmaking, so a lot of my work is based on, and influenced by printmaking techniques.
Helene Kippert
So great to see you playing with the digital art again elaine – beautiful!
Elaine van Dyk replied
You are very kind, Helene. Thank you. Yes, I guess this is a start – hopefully I’ll get to work with my printmaking press again too.

hugo
interesting tones and textures, complex and allusive, like the meaning of life, very earthy tones, Australian, I think
Elaine van Dyk replied
Wow, what lovely, in-depth feedback from you, hugo. Much appreciated, as always. Yes, this work has it’s origins from past outings to Kangaroo Ground, in my search for ground orchids. To sketch them literally required me to almost lie on the ground at “eye” level with them.
Marion Chapman
fabulous texture and great earthy colours
Elaine van Dyk replied
Thank you Marion! Monoprints are great that way because (as you know of course) they can really lend themselves to lovely textures – and it’s wonderful to have access to that modern-day tool, digital manipulation, with which to work further into the image if we want to.
AnitaInverarity
Aw thats really kind of you Elaine xx
Karin Taylor

Really Really lovely.
Belinda "Billy...
Wow a Monoprint digitally modified. Doesn’t it look fantastic. Gosh it makes you wonder why we do the printmaking, I guess one day it will all be combined. Anyway this is really striking. Can you put it in the “Works on Paper” Group so I can feature it!! Billy
Elaine van Dyk replied
Thank you Belinda……it is only the colours that are digitally changed, and a very small amount of digital drawing added around the petals – the textured look is how it turned out in the original monoprint. It was a rough monoprint on an odd sheet of paper that I had lying around, so not really valuable as a print on its own. I have this habit of doing monoprints with leftover inks on my ink plate, and don’t always use good quality paper for these. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. But I was happy with the digital colour enhancement on this one.

I love the print you have created. So beautiful, I would love learn more about printing. I have recently been facinated by kiki Smiths amazing work with prints, this has a similar feeling.
