vibrant, beautiful and i love the fishies..(your are sooooooooooo good ) :)
Elaine van Dyk replied
Glad you noticed the fish, Karin – I was wondering if I’d made them too subtle, but wanted to give people something to find beyond the seagull. Your enthusiasm is so encouraging – thanks heaps.

Martin Derksema
Oops. Missed this one. I think this is a brilliant one again. I love how you depicted the movement of the wings. You really catched the beauty of these miraculous birds. The positioning of the seagulls in a diagonal works great. The swirling environment of water, air and foam is a feast for the eye. I even see the fish they are hunting for. The whole scene makes me think of the beautiful story Johnathan Livinstone Seagull I once read.
Elaine van Dyk replied
Martin, you certainly do pick up a lot in the work you look at and you take the time to comment, which is really very rewarding. Thank you. I understand how easy it is to miss work on the Bubble these days, and please rest assured that comments on not expected, but I truly appreciate all those that I do receive.

Solomon Walker
a woodcut which is superb to design…excellent Elaine!
Elaine van Dyk replied
Solomon, your comments have just spurred me on to finishing a woodblock I commenced a couple of weeks’ ago! I’ve been procrastinating – one of those lack of confidence things…....will it work, won’t it, etc, etc. But I guess there is only one way to find out, and that is to go ahead and start printing!!
Solomon Walker
you are welcome Elaine. Your woodcuts are some of the very best I came across, very professionally done, and looking very much like print press work.
