Jijaws St, Sumner Park, Qld floods 2011
Sumner Park is a small industrial area west of Brisbane which is normally 3.5 km from the closest bank of the Brisbane river.
On 13/1/2011 the river moved a little closer.
The area is populated with many small business owners that have now been left with not only a tremendous task of cleaning the remnants of the effects of the floods then counting the losses inflicted upon them but they have to some how rebuild their only source of income.
Mel Brackstone has a been affected in this area by the floods
Many stories are surfacing of people that have not only lost their homes but also their business as well.
