Profile

I am a mother of three who picked up a camera creatively in February of 2008 when I received a Nikon for my birthday from my brother. I have not put it down since. I have never felt this passionately about anything other than my children and still it’s different because taking pictures allows me to connect spiritually in a way nothing ever has. I feel almost as though I was blind until I got behind a lens. On the contrary, I do not enjoy being photographed, go figure. But I love to go out at 6 am and “see” things until something sees me and asks me to take notice and capture a moment with it. I find it difficult to describe the completeness I feel in that moment other than to say….I don’t know, but maybe it’s not meant to say. I know practically nothing technically, but am attempting to learn. What has been there and remains is the drive to continue taking photos and find that just right moment when you open that shutter. I love beautiful things, but more than that, I love the ever changing image in relation to light.
