A chip off the proverbial old block, a baby alligator sits astride its protective mother’s head.
Moments later, Mama rose up out of the water, a signal for my kayak and me to be gone. The entire day on the water was memorable but Mama Gator and her babies were what made it particularly special.

Mama Gator lifting up out of the water…“Scram!”
Mother alligators shepherd their babies carefully. One alligator I saw had seven tiny alligator youngsters on her body or limbs!

A full body image of Mama Alligator…look closely at Mama’s back behind the baby on her head and you will see another baby sitting on her back looking in the opposite direction!

Another view of Mama Gator and her baby.

Awwwww how cute….but a touch scary hey?? LOL! You’re more game than me!!!
:-)) Oh, Kathie, you’d do fine in a kayak near the gators. They really don’t want anything to do with you as long as one doesn’t come too close. Cheers!
