Spinner Dolphins Bow Riding by Gina Ruttle (Whalegeek)
Clear

Spinner dolphins ride the bow of our boat in Midway Atoll’s brilliant blue lagoon.

An estimated 200+ spinner dolphins spend their days in Midway’s lagoon resting and sleeping. During the night, the dolphins return to the deep ocean outside the protective coral reef to hunt for food.

Great photo. Amazing how blue and clear the water is, I am so used to murky water where I live.

  • I hear ya….most of the dolphins I see live in waters that have run off or are rich marine stews (ie, not clear) so seeing the animals in this crystalline water was a treat. Thank you for your kind words!

Blue water and dolphins. A very inviting image

  • Hey, Stephen! I think everyone likes dolphins. Something about their freedom plus their penchant for bow riding endears them to humans. Cheers, Gina
