Sunrise brought the gift of a spectacular daybreak over the Valley of the Eagles at the Chilkat Valley Bald Eagle Reserve. Thousands of bald eagles converge on a wide expanse of the Chilkat River beginning late Fall (October). The portion of the river in the Chilkat Bald Eagle Reserve remains unfrozen during the cold winter months, carcasses of salmon sustaining the big birds throughout winter months.
The sunrise is enhanced slightly by a polarizer.
