Béla Török
Amazing reflections, splendid capture!
whalegeek replied
Thank you, dear Bela. Everybody was smiling that morning when the beaver pond was still as glass to produce a mirror image.
Kat36

John Wright
Magnificent color, beautiful framing.
whalegeek replied
Thank you, John. I appreciate you stopping by for a look!
John Wright
I just noticed you are using a wimberley head with a short lens… how do you like that setup? It isn’t too awkward?
whalegeek replied
John, other than for the weight and hefty nature of the Wimberley head, I really like it. It’s tripods in general I don’t care for but I find my images look better when using them. The Wimberley works well with big lenses but I don’t find it awkward at all with a smaller lens. No drift anymore with any of my lenses—-YEAH!!!
John, I’m still drooling over your SW canyon images. HAVE to get back down there one of those days.
Scott Denny
Ah yes…the Grand Tetons. Man…I want to go back to Yellowstone.
whalegeek replied
Me too, Scott. The Tetons and Yellowstone are both very special places, unique and always full of surprises.
JenLand
Really, really wonderful capture! I never get tired of the Tetons!
whalegeek replied
JenLand, thank you ever so much. You live in Jackson, as in Wyoming? If so, I can see how you never tire of these magnificent mountains. I think the Tetons rank among the most beautiful mountains in the world since they rise so majestically above the valley. They really know how to make a statement!
A.M. Ruttle
Yippeee! FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER in Mountains and Mountain Light… go whalegeek!!!!!
whalegeek replied
Thank you, A.M. Ruttle. This was quite a surprise and honor. Hmmmm, problem is there are no whales in that little beaver pond. Okay, now that I’ve got that little bit of whalegeekdom out of the way, the Tetons are about the most impressive mountains I’ve been privileged to view. Thanks for the support!
Dave Hampton
very nice!!!
whalegeek replied
Thank you, Dave. Hey, congrats to your canine leaders, Salty and Big B for their work in the Iditarod! Wonderful animals, aren’t they?
Rany Lutz
WOW!!!!! And then some….....
whalegeek replied
Rany, you brought a big smile to my face! Thank you!!!
Sandy Stewart
The morning sky shades, the balanced tree line with the snow capped mountains in the middle and the mirrored glass like reflection, including the grass sticking out of the water, all come together to make for one STUNNING Scenic capture! Beautiful! : )
whalegeek replied
You are too kind, Sandy. Thank you for your ever thoughtful comments.

zumi
Lovely reflection and location. These kind of reflections are just so tranquil and beautiful, aren’t they?
whalegeek replied
Oh, zumi, I couldn’t agree more. I just missed some incredible cloud reflections way up in the frozen north. The people I was with were getting mighty tired and cold so I didn’t feel like bothering them with me setting up for shots. Still, that glorious scene remains with me in my memory. Boo, now I wish I had persevered and taken some pics.
zumi
Yeah, I know that. It’s all different when you are with a group of people. But you can always go back to that place alone or persuade them to follow you next time, no?
whalegeek replied
If only, zumi but those moments are gossamer and fleeting so it’s not likely I’ll be able to recapture that moment I missed. Besides, it was in the middle of polar bear country so it’s not likely that I’ll be able to return without much preparation….AND an armed guide! :-)))
Jason Connolly
