The best part of photographing this woman were the shy smiles she and I exchanged as I left her compound. My regret is that we were unable to converse other than in the language of shared smiles.

Wasn’t that a wonderful coincidence? All was golden that day…the dust in the air that cows kicked up lent even more of a sunny hue to the scene. I am happy you enjoyed this photo.

Dottie, I am pleased this photo spoke to you. What bothers me is that I was unable to speak to this lady. Not only was there a language barrier but she was shy and obviously under the watchful eye of her mother-in-law. Still, smiles between us built bridges across the gulf of cultures.
