Introducing leggings. You’ll never run out of inspiration.

This little fellow was so proud of his heritage. You could see it in his posture and in the enthusiasm he showed in his dancing.

This image was taken in 2010 on Rosebud Reservation South Dakota during the annual Pow Wow celebrating Native American (American Indian) veterians.

What an amazing spectacular.

What a cute kid and I love it that they are trying to keep the tradition alive in the USA.

Are they trying to keep or revive the Australian aborigines culture, as they do with the native Americans?

  • Thanks for the comment.

There are still Aboriginal tribes in Australia that live on their traditional lands and live as much as they can by their traditional cultures including hunting for Kangaroo meat etc. We are a much younger country and I think that because of some of our governments erroneous policies that lasted way to olong ike taking young children and babies away from thier biological families and trying to assimilate them into the ‘white’ community have not yet been overcome. Many Aboriginal children stolen from thier familes have still not been able to find who /where they belong. Others work hard to preserve their culture. While i was teaching we had Aboriginal people come to our school to teach the children about their culture. About bush food – grubs, berries etc- and some traditional dances. The kids loved it and it was especially good for the children who have aboriginal ancestory/genology.

We can only hope that one day the cultures of all indigenous peoples around the world will be honoured and celebrated by all peoples.
