Eastern cultures tend to see a Rabbit in the Moon, instead of the human face seen by most Westerners.
When I was making my Goddess Cards, I chose this image to represent Andrasta – an ancient British Goddess. (She was possibly the Goddess of the Iceni tribal Queen usually known as Boadicea, but actually called Boudicca.) As both rabbits and the Moon were sacred to Andrasta, because of their connotations of fertility and the female cycle, I thought the rabbit in the moon made a great card for her.
