I suppose i consider myself a portrait artist, even though I do lots of other subjects. It is just that the human face trully fasinates me and I find it such a challenge .
I absolutely love it at a stage in my paintings when the subject comes out at me, and i recognise their spirit and feel their soul.
I love to work in Acrylics as they dry so fast, and I can have them hanging on the wall the same day
and I love large paintings where I can be more expressive.
I work in my studio, upstairs above the gallery/cafe, called The Other Side and in a little room off my bedroom when i want to be near the family, a bit cramped but I feel safe and not so selfish.
