The unOfficial RedBubble Format CheatSheet .. thang
made this to share with everyone – favourite this page or download (save as). See original journal post : Format and Found by Accident
- For anyone who uses Firefox and has Greasemonkey installed, Dave Pearson has created a script that replaces the existing hints on RedBubble with the cheatsheet
Please “do not copy* this and repost to your journal or writings, and try to make it like you created this cheatsheet. I made this to help myself and others, for everyone to share and pass the link around. However theres been cases of this happening recently..
You are welcome to pass the link/direct others seeking the info, and could use words like below for example, should you want to post in your journal/groups/forums :
Example/Tip: How to help others requesting formatting assistance. You could post this (below) in your group, in your journal or personally reply to bubblemails
For help and tips to How to Make links, Add images and other general formatting in Redbubble, please head on to:
- the Unofficial RedBubble Cheatsheet thang created by Webgrrl where you can favourite the piece or save it to your hard drive for future reference.
- Also check out the resource area, where you can ask for help or test out what you’ve learnt, HERE. Plus there’s a script available for Firefox/Greasemonkey users cleverly made by Dave Pearson

Thanks I’ve been looking for formatting help – but still have a problem – I cannot seem to keep the tabs in poems and I need them to maintain the flow of the work. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I’m new to Red Bubble and just finding my way around.
webgrrl replied
what do you mean by Tabs in Poem? You can tell me here, or by emailing me. click here for email
lianne
well thank you webgrrl – I’ve actually found the answer but I’ll explain anyway. I’m speaking of how to indent lines – the white space – to create a pattern in a poem that may add to the flow or rhythm –
like
this
lianne
oh heck – like this

someone on the help page explained to me that I need to insert & nbsp; (no space between ampersand and nbsp) for every space you want to insert. If that helps anyone besides me – lol

I can’t get the Horizontal Line to show up. I have been doing all kinds of asterix symbols, 3, 4, 2, space 3, etc. and it doesn’t show up. If I put 3 asterix symbols, I get 2 asterix symbols on my profile, and no horizontal line. Any ideas?
webgrrl replied
Text/paragraph top of horizontal line
hit ENTER key
3 asterix symbol

Text/paragraph bottom of horizontal line

capture of what i typed here, now

Donell Trostrud
Thanks anyway. I tried it that way as well and it just puts a couple asterix symbols on my profile and then makes the next text bold. The bold function is working and the bullets as well, just not this. I have other glitches in my site – my bubblesite I can’t delete galleries. I guess I’m just a glitch magnet.

RiSH :
Nice!! What about quote feature ??
webgrrl replied
i dont know how to do that here.. if anyone else does, please share here..
LisaR
Thanks heaps!
RiSH :
Quote is done by using ~ text
like ~example text
webgrrl replied
well that is mentioned in the cheatsheet..but i didnt call it a ‘quote’ – cuz i wasnt sure what it was for except that it made the text smaller. So does using the ^ symbol. I suppose to me a Quote is when the text has an indent, which the ~ doesnt do..
RiSH :
Hi!! I did a mistake … quote text is like the following …
Use > To quote text in forums
EXAMPLE:
>quoted text here then press enter two times
then your reply
webgrrl replied
so that works only in the forums or here as well?

I used your image tips for the first time in this post thank you!
I had a lot of trouble getting the .jpg url though. I tried with the page URL and adding /image.jpg but that didn’t work. I had to eventually go into the html source of the page to find the .jpg url. Is there an easier way?
Oh, and I linked back to this post :)
webgrrl replied
what browser are u using? i usually right click on the image i want to get the url of and either copy image url or sometimes i choose open image in a new tab and copy the .jpg, etc
p/s you might want to reconsider posting your post re tshirt, designs etc in your Journal, and not your writing section, as from my understanding that area is for litterature, poetry, prose, fiction, etc.. and the journal is more like our blog/thoughts/whats happening with us, what we made, wrote, etc etc
incurablehippie
Cheers, got it sorted now. And yes, I always forget which is which with journal and writing. I’ll try and get it right next time :)
Rob Beckett
Great help thanks.

Crazy old redbubble with its crazy code, why not just stick to html code??!!
webgrrl replied
Redbubble is built in Textile/Ruby Rails – a language that is being used in many other sites.. I’ve seen many other places (eg: inthemix.com.au) that also use same/similar. I think its less chance of getting hacked n things like that too..
Monica Oldenburg

Hi Everyone and webgrrl,
Firstly, let me say thank you very much for these awesome useful codes for adding the images, links and text styles etc to homepages of RB. It is very much appreciated.
Now, I have a question.
I noticed on someone account that they had an email link direct to their email application and I am trying to duplicate this on my RB account, but not having much luck.
Would anyone know how this is done and if possible be willing to share please.
Thanks again for all the wonderful tips and hints and thanks in advance to my question.

Very handy. Can I just add that the easiest way to save the url of an image is to add it to your favourites, then open it in a new window and copy from the address bar at the top. worked well for me, anyway.
Cheers.

Thanks webgrrl, gonna pin this on my wall.
‘Have just one question for you though. I’ve noticed some image pages with videos on the right side under their info section. They are playable from the same page, eg YouTube videos etc.
Do you have any ideas on how to set this up please?
Alan Hogan 4 days ago
Hi Webgrrl, thanks for this! It’s going on my wall soon :-)
I was wondering if you would know how I can attach a video to a page, eg. YouTube
I noticed it on a few pages such as this one here
webgrrl replied 3 days ago
to add youtube to your profile, within descriptions and all around Redbubble, you type:
youtube-colon-the full youtube url
which gets you..
