We found this old lady in Rhodes/Greece, October 2008.
She brought to mind to many thoughts, above all about how we tend to be so wrapped up in our own vanites, that we sometimes forget to see how transient we really are. This lady was old and bent and goodness knows what burdens she has had to carry in her life. For us she glowed with an aura of dignity and eventhough we felt that we were invading her privacy, it was a more than just a photograph for us and it was a moment we really wanted to capture.

Using a Pentax ist ds, with a tamron 70-300 mm lens

    Thank you so much for your great comment, J.K. Actually we manipulated this photo a lot. Of course we cropped it and removed everything that could distract from the old lady. I add the light effects with help of photoshop elements 5. When we saw this old lady, we just had do take this shot, because we felt that this scene had something philosophical! What we tried to do was changing the snapshot into a work of art.
