Hi folks. I’m a self-taught amateur photographer residing in South Australia and my passion is shooting architecture, although other genres including street life, macro and landscape are also of interest. I often look for an odd angle or composition and like most photographers, have become a keen observer. Seeking the unusual and putting a different slant on the very usual have become important concepts to me. My main aim is to help myself see things from a different viewpoint and hopefully convey that to others. Thanks for taking the time to view my photos and feel free to comment. Oh, and please try the fish…..wayne.

While feeling uninspired about what to write here next, the thought eventually occurred to me that inspiration itself might be appropriate. Where does inspiration come from?
The R O T is one of my pet hates in photography. It’s important to understand it when composing and/or cropping an image, but once the concept
Architecture is to do with the designing of buildings and structures, but in its broader meaning it also includes the design of our complete built environment.
Old buildings are a rich source of subject matter for photographers. Not only are they usually full of character,
Texture is an appealing quality both in the visual and tactile sense. It is a way of describing things around us and can take the form of patterns, random or otherwise,
It has occurred to me that being a photographer is a bit like being an alchemist of yore. One needs to extract and distill the essence of a subject then present it, with or without context.
