Wilangee Road ~ a road on the Eldee Station, beyond Silverton, a very rural town in New South Wales.
We drove for miles and miles and miles along roads such as this, looking at the vast expansive scenery that spread out before us. The soil is a beautiful shade of red – the roads are unsealed. With the severe rains that they’ve had recently, the roads have been gouged severely and make travelling a bit dodgy.
The station is a sheep and cattle station/ranch and would likely cover thousands of square miles. The largest being Anna Creek Station in Outback South Australia covering 34,000 square km making it bigger than Belgium. It has been said that technically an animal could be born on a station and never come in contact with a human for its entire life as the stations are so vast.
