In 1900 Honore Foisy, a local tinsmith, covered the front of his lower town house in tin as both protection against the elements and an ad for his business. The house was demolished in 1961, but the facade was saved, and part of it was installed on a wall in what became known as “Tin House Courtyard”.

    It’s lovely Wendi – looks almost like one of those external elevators..
    Love the colours. It is great the facade was left intact because it is such an unusual construction.
