Heaven

On a trip to Germany, we came across a non-descript church in a field. When we entered, we realized we’d found a little jewel in a field. This church is incredible and if you ever get a chance to visit it, you should.
Ceiling was flat, but painted, it seemed to be curved.

The pilgrimage church of Wies (German: Wieskirche) is an oval rococo church, designed in the late 1740s by Dominikus Zimmermann, who spent the last eleven years of his life in a nearby dwelling. It is located in the foothills of the Alps, the Steingaden municipality of the Weilheim-Schongau district, Bavaria, Germany.
Construction took place between 1745 and 1754, and the interior was decorated in stuccowork in the tradition of the Wessobrunner School.

Oh Wendy, I know the Wieskirche very well. It warms my heart to see your picture.
In oposite to many other churches Rococo Churches are so playful and full of life and love of life, and you captured this spirit so well.

I remember visiting this church when I was in German age 11, it left an indelible impression (as did much of what I experienced having flown over by myself and stayed for 3 months with relatives). You captured it beautifully here Wendi.
