Wingmen Of Yesteryear by Andreas Mueller

Photographic Prints

Available to buy on…

83 year old pilot conducting some pre-flight checks in the de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk, while his wingman ensures the radio is set properly. These are the types of shot I just wished I would take more of. I am beginning to see the value of the human aspect of photography.

Taken with Nikon D200, Nikkor 24-120mm lens, post-processed with ReDynaMix for slight HDR effect, Dodge and Burnt in CS3, and final Digital Lightroom edits.

Check out this slideshow I created from that day

This image sold at my opening show at Walls Fine Art gallery in Downtown Norfolk, VA.

I don’t know if you’ve ever sat in the cockpit of a single engine Fighter//trainer, but there’s one thing that always gets me when I’ve sat in one. You cant see shit out the front! I know that sounds funny, but all you see is sky! It must’ve taken Balls of steel to fly one of those from a carrier.
This is brilliant mate…works magic in B&W.
    Love the rivets!
