Saw this old and tired Mack B-42 truck in a rock quarry near Mifflinburg, PA, while stalking the Amish. It just screamed: “HDR me, PLEASE HDR me.” Wish has been granted ….
Single RAW image, converted to HDR in ReDynamix, then Dodged&Burnt in CS3, then ran through Digital Lightroom to adjust various colors. Taken with Nikon D300 and Sigma 50-500mm lens.

Mack the knife
A fresh oil change and this little Mack could be running down the highway once again….ya think?
Well, not quite Von. The windshield has a few significant holes in it, there is about .5in layer of Schmutz covering the gauges in the cab. It is setup to run some sort of a conveyor belt system.

Wow, Andy, this is …beautiful. Not what I would think should be said about a work truck, but true none-the-less. : )
If you’re up this way again and have some extra time you really must join my friends and I for a photo road trip around the area…what fun that would be!
Hey, thank you Ann …. you may also appreciate some of the aviation photography I posted in a link to the most recent Journal entry I wrote … it’s a different “hunt” entirely! Check it out if you have a spare minute or so.

Where again are you located? Would love the photo road trip idea!

Andy, this is very cool! I love the HDR that’s not obvious with the overdone saturation. You’ve gleaned some very nice and realistic detail in his image. I love these old and worn pieces of machinery, too; so much history there.
Yes indeed, the stories this truck and the folks that keep it running could tell. I’m a big fan of the somewhat “muted” HDR look, although the over-the-top ones looks so cool as well. Did you get a chance to see the slideshow I bmailed you about?

Great find Andy!!
Thank you Marvin!

Hey, I’ll check in more when I get a chance…I’m in Lancaster County, PA – I believe you’ve been here before. Lots of covered bridges within 30 miles of my house! LOL And you can stalk Amish until the cows come home (yeah, pun intended). : ) I’m actually hosting a group shoot August 8th with the Keystone State group – woohoo! Join us if it suits you! Or we can look into another time too. I’d like to take a few days off in the fall to go photograph-hunting. : )
