Introducing Scoop Neck Tees and Unisex Tanks — FIND OUT MORE

09:37 Sunday morning. The static display of the F-22 Raptor is just screaming to be photographed. Decided to break a few rules here and only took a shot of the F-22’s office. What an incredible plane! The flight demo later on was just stunning as usual. Taken at the 2009 Airpower Over Hampton Roads Airshow at Langley Air Force Base, VA. I just love the lighting in this shot.

Are they still not allowing photos of the entire plane? I saw the first group that went to Korea a couple of years ago when I was TDY in Hawaii… Yep…an awesome plane…

Really like the deep color on this one…

  • Sorry Dennis, I had replied to you comment as a comment, rather than to you directly. Here it is again:
Oh no Dennis, they do allow full shots of the F-22. Had heavy armed security around it, but you could just snap away at will. If you have never seen the flight demo, it will leave you breathless. The manuevers this plane can pull off are UNREAL …. should not be possible ….

To me,Andy, this is so more powerful than a full shot,it’s bloody awesome, and so “in your face”,fabulous work!!!

  • Thank you Lance, yes, that’s how I feel about this shot as well. Like the “arrow” the light is forming on the tip of it’s “nose”. Thank you so much!

Mate, You have Broached the boundaries of the Norm….And pulled it off spectacularly!!
I love the Subtle light reflected from the HUD, and the way the light intensifies to a point on the tip of the Radome.
    Sensational!

  • Yes Sir, I would tend to agree with you (great minds ..). So, I am hoping that you begin to see the value of poss. an October visit …. Thank you for the kind comment, mate!

The lighting is great, and the sheer simplicity of the shot is too!

  • Excellent point, considering that there is NOTHING simple about this subject, it is probably the most complex plane to date. It’s neat to stop it back down to simplicity. Haven’t thought about it that way, but like your train of thought …. Thanks!
