The 2 week vacation in Europe as usual was just way too short. Prague was simply Fantastic, if you ever get a chance to go, don’t pass it up. My only regret is that I didn’t stay a couple of extra days there, night time photography should be awesome there. I then went on to Dresden, got some good night shots there, which will be posted soon. Travel on the Autobahn as usual was quite the treat. Amazing how folks travel at relatively high speeds but everyone appears to be quite safe about it.
I then finally headed north to see my family near Hamburg, Germany. We had a great time, ate way too much, drank some excellent German Beer. Made a sidetrip to Denmark (Island of Fano and the city of Ribe (Denmark’s oldest city), that also was quite nice.
Now it’s back to the grind, bringing home the bacon and trying to go through some 1200 photos in search of keepers to post.

Hello Mundy, nice to see you here on RB as well. I’ve posted some HDR images of Prague, they turned out quite nice I think. There will be more to come …. Always looking forward to seeing some of your exceptional work !!!

I have never tried HDR, seems like something that would even be great for wildlife shots where there is more of an environmental/space element! I may have to try it someday. I guess one needs special software in addition to the in camera techniques of taking a selection of images at varying exposure latitudes? Any good references?

Hello Kimberly, yes tell me about it ….. (the RAW thing). Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth the trouble. I got a couple of really cool night shots of the Zwinger Palace in Dresden coming soon – so watch out , hehehe. I see you’ve been busy as well.

Mundy, I use Photomatix Pro for my HDR work. It’s surprisingly easy to combine the bracketed multiple exposures into one using that tool. Not sure if it would work on wildlife, as there tends to be a bit of movement from the animal. BTW, I believe there is a free 30 day trial on Photomatix Pro, give it a shot, it’s so much fun.
