Unknown US Soldier
This is just so sad to me, that families can not even get a sense of closure and have a place to mourn the loss of their family member. Any US Veterans Cemetary is just littered with these gravemarkers for Unkown Soldiers. How can you give it all for your country, and then not even be recognized by name? HDR image captured at the Hampton National Cemetary, Hampton, VA.

Andy, Not only do I love how you’ve captured this moment, but as a fellow American I am proud to see another speak up about this very sad issue. We can all hold those unknown soldiers in our prayers.

Congrats on Home Page … beautifully presented, emotive work – I stood in Thailand and was rivetted by so many ‘unknown soldier’ graves, and then one mass grave. Very moving … we should never forget.

As a veteran, this moved me to tears. It is sad, indeed, that someone could make the ultimate sacrifice and no one knows their name. Many fallen soldiers of past wars were not even brought home for burial. That is very sad. Thank you for honoring these soldiers.

Here’s the hope I see, for those who couldn’t locate their lost one, they can dream that this person belongs to them.
