How bad have you got it?
So you got caught up in some traffic and got to the office a little late? The toy your child wants for Christmas is sold out everywhere? So you’re dreading the holiday get-together because their are some weird family dynamics …..
I bet you this gentleman would trade your life for his in an instant. He was really caring towards his dog (you can see it’s nose resting on his leg), which made me so sad to think how this dog does not have the pampered life my dogs have.
Note the dog bowl for receiving some change.

It’s amazing how far the human race has come in the last 2K years. Sad that some things haven’t come so far.

Andy, you have reached us all. You’re looking at the sum of man right here…..evrything he has, is in this picture.
And yet he has someone… His faithful companion who knows naught but his masters love.
When I see the homeless, I feel many emotions all at once. Some conflicting with each other. Like Sadness and Anger, Despair and Hope. But the overiding image that wells in my head, is that this man….is somebody’s baby. Somewhere out there he has family…
You have to wonder what cicumstances brought him to this point…. And what will be the outcome…
Bravo Andy…

Just a powerful message for all of us to get our acts together and start thinking about the other guy once in a while. Life is too short not to !

Scott Denny
Excellent photo…excellent title. There is so much said in both.

Everyone has their story – I bet he has. I wonder who he once was and what happened for him to end up this way. A very sobering image indeed. The human race needs constant reminding of those less fortunate for most of the time it is not their doing. Well done.
coffeebean
Great shot of a sad reality.
Charl045
What great photojournalism…if we all weren’t so damned spoiled to help those who don’t have as much.. Well done! I have a number of homeless photos..hoping one day to make a book..

I have commented before but just wanted to add another comment. This is a great photo. Life is harsh and this stuff is real. There is so much you can do to help people. Not everyone is a bum. Many people are good people in a bad spot. Great photo!

Great Capture, I love street life photography, every person has a story & your pictures tell a story of his own & how you feel for this person, it costs nothing to be human, and to touch anothers soul is like lighting a fire in the heavens !

Andy Mueller replied
That was funny about the jelly jar lid. You are so right about the HGTV show and those folks complaining about what the house is lacking …. put’s it all in perspective, doesn’t it?
