Wingmen Of Yesteryear
83 year old pilot conducting some pre-flight checks in the de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk, while his wingman ensures the radio is set properly. These are the types of shot I just wished I would take more of. I am beginning to see the value of the human aspect of photography.
Taken with Nikon D200, Nikkor 24-120mm lens, post-processed with ReDynaMix for slight HDR effect, Dodge and Burnt in CS3, and final Digital Lightroom edits.

This was taken at the Military Aviation Museum In Virginia Beach, VA. They were having a special british aviation day. It was a fantastic day!

I don’t know if you’ve ever sat in the cockpit of a single engine Fighter//trainer, but there’s one thing that always gets me when I’ve sat in one. You cant see shit out the front! I know that sounds funny, but all you see is sky! It must’ve taken Balls of steel to fly one of those from a carrier.

This is brilliant Andy and yesssss….I’m glad you are ‘beginning to see the value of the human aspect of photography’.....we humans can add a lot of character to a subject and this is a perfect example of that. This image shows SO much character and all because of those two gentleman but especially the 83 year old pilot. And the candid capture adds and even better twist. Great b&w processing as well. I LOVE this so much :)
