The Devil's Church
This shot was taken on the way home from a motorcycle trip to Dayton, OH. My buddy was getting a little ticked off at my wanting to stop to take this shot, as we tried to outrun the rain. Am I glad we stopped !!! This looked like an old church, that someone then had used as a residence for years. I LOVE the red leather chair on the porch, and the sky was just perfect for HDR. Taken with Nikon D300 and Tokina 12-24mm lens. Post processing included HDR treatment, and some dodge & burn.

Andy Mueller replied
You know, as soon as we left there, it started sprinkling. I thought to myself “He is really going to be pissed now …”. Well it stopped raining right after that, and even after a while we passed by this waterfall and he pulled over, saying: “Oh, this looks like a sceninc place for some pictures”. So wheww, I knew then he wasn’t mad at me …. Thanks for the awesome comment!
Krys Bailey

I love the leaning light post. Great job on the black and white and color choices.
Michele Conner
It looks so nice and surreal. The sky is unbelieveable. I think the sky really makes it… I’m guessing that’s where you used the burn tool… and bravo.
Wayne Taylor
Ok, for the challenge, all your HDR pictures have a quality like no other. In this case, I’m afraid it made it too spooky for me. I guess I like “nice” pictures. The title makes it take on an even errie kinda feeling. This is just round one and I know you have such a repertoire to chose from, not to mention a few thousand plane pictures. Better luck next round.
Your pal,
Wayne
Andy Mueller replied
Yeah I figured you wouldn’t be too fond of the title on this one, it’s amazing how hard it sometimes is to come up with a good title.
Joel Hall
Awesome Andy! Was this abandoned or still in use? Did you try to get inside?
john403

I really hate when I “shoulda, coulda, woulda but didn’t! Glad you stopped for this one. We all seem to have a regret here or there for passing up on something we knew could have been great! Regrets, they do suck! ; ) Beautifully captured!! Can’t wait for you to get home to see what awesome photos you have! C- xoxo

Wouldn’t it be fantastic to live here, to be able to do this beauty up! And that red couch against that green grass! I love the spooky effect that you have captured here…. It looks almost abandoned, but guess with that vibrant red couch, there would have to be someone living there!! Wonderful photography and work Andy – and very glad that you stopped!! Did you end up getting caught in the rain?!! lol!
Alina Holgate
This is an excellent example of the architectural movement in the States known as “carpenter gothic” whereby builders tried to reproduce the gothic architecture of Europe (which would usually be built in stone) using wood. They tended to add many gothic features (such as bell towers) without much consideration to overall scale or design form. This produced an architectural style that many “classic” architects consider to be hideous but which many people (like me) just love for its uniqueness.
pablo666
This is an awsome shot dude! HDR done well. Theres something proper scary about that red chair on the porch!
