Drinks For Three

Drinks For Three

Re-worked a shot I took quite some time ago, in order to enter it into the Redfield Plugin people challenge. Initially this started as a 30 second exposure, with me moving to a different spot at the counter every 10 seconds or so. Then I ran it through 2 different Redfield filters, layered both and selectively punched through it here and there (selective coloring). Then dodge and burned a little here and there, and now I am ready for a beer!!!!

This has been taken with my Nikon D200 and 18-70mm lens.

i love the ghost like image at the end ..ana ; )

  • Andy Mueller replied

Can you believe it was all a single shot, taken for 30 seconds? Apparently I didn’t move to the far right long enough, as the exposure there is much more ghostlike – like you said.

  • ANNETTE HAGGER

    ANNETTE HAGGER

I’m not familiar with the Redfield Plugin but this is a very ingenious shot. Nice work Andy! Isn’t it fun when you get such nice results after all your time and effort?

  • Andy Mueller replied

Yes indeed, it is rather rewarding when it turns out even better than what I had hoped to.

  • Noelene Davies

Wow Andy this fabulous. How on earth can you do something like this. I’m afraid I am not this talented. Amazing work indeed.

  • Andy Mueller replied

You can very easily duplicate something similar. It was not all that hard, once you have a decent “stock image” to work from. That was the hardest, getting that 30sec exposure shot just like the way I wanted it.

OK OK you’ve sold me on the fracking filter already!!!

    Nice job mate.

I’m coming to live at your place! It looks like a palace!

  • Andy Mueller replied

C’mon over buddy, you have a standing invitation. Anytime. Not quite a palace though ….. hope you wouldn’t be dissapointed. But it is a custom built home and has won awards in a show when 10 of these houses were built to showcase new materials, features, etc. Then folks get to wander through the homes and also buy them. It’s called Homearama (the show, they have one every year).

That is superb photographic Art. Great technique and finish – First class

Was that your own idea, or did you copy somebodies style?

  • Andy Mueller replied

I don’t believe I copied anyone’s style. I was just goofing around, trying out a new tripod, and you know how things go from there …. I actually took a similar image before, and figured to try it with me as the subject as well. Check out the other image

Thank you for your kind words!
