Turned On

Funny how something so ordinary, can be so interesting. Captured on my way out of the Bruton Parish Episcopal Church, in Colonial Williamsburg.

One of the oldest Episcopal churches in the United States, Bruton has been serving members since 1715. Famous past worshipers include presidents Washington, Tyler, Monroe and Jefferson.

What is it?? A wall socket??? Lovely tones anyway – look like little feet :)

  • Andy Mueller replied

Kel, 4 light switches in this really old church. I love how the switch plate has been painted over so many times and the cracking paint. Just imagine, four of our US Presidents came to this church to worship.

The homespun simplicity of this image is great because its so true to those who first built this church and not dripping with sentimentality for a past that never existed.
