The Spitfire, Is still the best looking aircraft to date.
It’s like a work of art!

Thanks brother … so I’m trying to figure out what Squadron this one belonged to ….. will have to look at full sideview of entire aircraft. Any idea on that trumpet and “bonnett” or clover leaf?

  • Andy Mueller replied

Micheal, take a look at Woodie’s comment below, in regards to the Stringed Horn emblem ….

That emblem or crest would have been the pilots own insignia. That position was widely used for adding one’s own special markings.

  • Andy Mueller replied

Cool thanks Michael. Good job as always. Nice attachments, the Spitfire is such an awesome ride …..

I guess having issues with small spaces would not be an option when flying this! Great shot Andy. It really does have an old world feel to it with the sepia tone.

A lovely detailed shot,Andy, and the choice of toning suits perfectly. The sound of the big Merlin is music to the ears, and the growl of the Griffon is haunting.

    Hi Andy,
Just spotted this and the emblem on the side is the “Stringed Horn” badge of 32 fighter squadron. Please pass this onto Michael Bermingham as I’m sure he’d be interested.
    Cheers Neil

Great shot, these old spitfires where amazing planes, many still flying today, I mean not in active service of course LOL.

We have a major air show a few miles from where I live, where they have great fly pasts of the WW2 and WW1 . It is fantastic.

  • Andy Mueller replied

Oh my, that would be dream to see some of these still flying. You are very lucky indeed !!!
