Air Force Heritage Flight
Captured at the airshow in Langley, VA. The F-4 Phantom used to be my all time favorite airplane growing up, it was so cool to see one of the last few flight worthy F-4’s in this heritage flight formation. Trailing the F-4 is an F-22 Raptor and an F-15 Strike Eagle (lower plane).

I cry everytime I see a Phantom used as a drone for target practice. Such a shame.

Again Michael, you are so right, during the show the announcer mentioned that this one will be target practice soon. Breaks my heart, such a cool & capable plane (for it’s time anyway).

I am ex Air Force Airman myself, ex AMMO troop…..........can never get enough of the airshows and fly overs…..my daughter turned down her nomination to the Air Force Academy…thought I would choke! Ha….not for her though~ thanks for posting all these shots, brings back memories and always makes my heart skip a beat!!
