Ghostly Reflections
This image was taken at a friends home, same place that some of you may remember from “Silent Night” or “Sound of Silence”. She has a great art and antique collection, her home just screams to be photographed, (she painted the painting over the fireplace). I tried a little something new with long exposures and LOVE the ghost like silhouettes. You have to view this in large format to see them!!! And there are no ducks in this shot!

Charlotte, yes, the 4th ghost is the hardest to find, very faint, but it’s to the right of the lady standing by the fireplace. His legs are right by the Orchid on the coffee table …

Kel, your eyes are fine, the 4th is a bit hard to find, it’s to the right of the lady in front of the Fireplace. Look at the ORchid on the coffee table, you should make out his legs from there ….. Good hunting, hehehe.

They seem pretty happy to me. His bithday was this weekend, and she surprised him with a testdrive of a Ferrari and a Lamborghini! He called me all ecstatic, he knows how much I appreciate high performance European cars. Funny, I import mostly from “Lowes”, but the way you worded it cracked me up. BTW, the wing picture is ready, I keep forgetting to bring it to work though.

How cool is that! My sister’s husband got her a race car drive in the pocono’s.. She was thrilled w/that! Well I am glad it is working out for your buddy! Sometimes “stuff” can get in the way.. And when I get pissed at Home Depot, I stray on over to Lowe’s.. it is a more organized store!

I am so intrigued by interior photo’s of homes. This one is a beautiful example. Even though real estate people want to drive sales sometimes with this kind of photography, it is really in a class of it’s own with regards to interior photography. Enjoyed your capture.

Pro Lighting? What a compliment! Actually, this was a 30 sec exposure at my friends beautiful home. I had her and her boyfriend move about 15 secs into the exposure to create the ghostly effects. Thank you for the kind words!

... ahh … that went off before I was ready … wanted to add that your 30 secs did the trick!!! Gorgeous!!!! What white balance were you on, if I may ask??

I took this with my D200, more than likely shot In RAW on Auto White Balance. I used the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 for this shot. I love long exposures, and as long as there is some nice lighting already in existence, i don’t think you’d need the light kit ….. but I’ll take it, hehehe.

Thanks, Andy. I’ve been known to totally screw up shots with the wrong white balance and read in my booklet for the new camera to use auto white bal. have been doing so and have been so happy with the results, I got to thinking .. this is too easy … LOL!!
