Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Courtyard hallway
I marvel at the architecture of this famous place…
From the simple stone floor to the detail of individual decorative sculptures, humility sends me to my knees in thanks to the visions of architects long since passed.
I dreamed of this as a boy, with ruler and paper, learning perspective in art class. The day we were assigned freehand work, I knew my dream of being a designer of lofty buldings was over.
So I deeply admire the men and women who take pencil to paper and draw visions.

Wayne Cook replied
No, Jewd…they sure don’t. When you get a chance, if you haven’t, please check out Tereza Del Pilar’s drawings. They are exemplary of a meld of modern and older styles of architecture. Greatly gifted architect :)
