I started painting with wax in 1989 after seeing a demonstration by chance. I have no art background and I am a self-taught encaustician.
In 1992, I took some work out to craft fairs for the first time.
Also in 1992 (as a result of so much interest at fairs) I started selling encaustic supplies to anyone in the UK, mainly through the post but also at events.
Until 2005, I ran our little farm in Essex as well as putting in enough hours with encaustic to be another full time job – or so it seemed.
I concentrate on encaustic supplies now (still just to the UK really) and sell my wax paintings at exhibitions and fairs. Some neighbours do most of my farm work now.
