    Thanks, Graham. It was very still. Even the birds seemed to be holding their breath. The lighting was tricky but it would have been criminal not to make the attempt..

    What a difference the clouds make on the still reflection, Steven. I was comparing this with your two subsequent posts, particularly March Ghyll Reservoir with its equally wide expanse of water as foreground. I must say I prefer this for the added touches of beautiful light and shadows. Could I ask what lens you prefer for such a gorgeous shot?

    Thank you Jan – and for the fav also. I used a Zuiko 4/3 14-45mm lens. That equates to 28-90mm for a 35mm lens. This was taken at 20mm (40mm). To ensure good dof I stopped down to f16 which resulted in a 1/30 sec exposure – tripod mandatory
